Timo Glock puts Toyota on top in P3 at Sakhir, before breaking down on-track

Timo Glock topped the third practice session of the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend ahead of qualifying, just before breaking down on track and having to be pushed into an escape road.

The Toyota driver had managed to jump up to the top of the timesheets ahead of Massa in the dying minutes of the session, and within two laps was sitting on the sidelines after his TF109 suffered an apparent electronic failure.

Massa meanwhile, gave slight consolation to his team by putting his Ferrari in second position, and for the last twenty minutes of the session was dicing lap times with McLaren's Lewis Hamilton, who eventually finished fourth.

Splitting last year's two title contenders was Nico Rosberg, the man who perennially dominates practice sessions this year.

Kimi Raikkonen added some security to Ferrari's discovery of pace with fifth, ahead of Renault's Nelson Piquet, who had a solid session.

Robert Kubica was the leading BMW in seventh, whose team mate Nick Heidfeld could only manage to set the tenth fastest time.

Other than Glock's breakdown, the only incidents in the session to speak of were that of Heikki Kovalainen's throttle sensor problem early in the session and Sebastien Bourdais being beached in the pits for most of the session due to an unknown problem with his Toro Rosso.
