Hayden to judge fitness in warm-up

Injured: American Hayden fears he may not be fit enough to race after accident in qualifying

Nicky Hayden will run in this evening's warm-up at Losail before deciding if he is fit enough to race in the Qatar Grand Prix.

The American landed heavily on his back after a violent high-side at the end of last night's qualifying session.

He was discharged from the Clinica Mobile with no broken bones, but also went for additional checks and x-rays at a local hospital, amid continued doubts over whether he would be in a good enough condition to start the season-opener.

Ducati team boss Livio Suppo has now told AUTOSPORT that a decision will be taken after the warm-up in an hour's time, which Hayden plans to contest.

If he is well enough to race, Hayden will take the start from 16th on the grid.
