    Pagani Zonda R

    Post by in.s@ne on 11th February 2009, 00:15

Pagani have announced (and actually constructed) a number of new "hardcore" Zondas (as if the F Roadster wasn't "core" enough for you). Named the Zonda R, they share basically nothing with the street version.
The R is made from a mixture of carbon fibre and titanium - a world first which reportedly saves 25kg of weight.
It has a 48mm longer wheelbase, and a 50mm long track, and the total car is about 400mm longer than the regular, street-legal, Zonda F.

The 6 litre AMG V12 churns out 750bhp, and is the engine from the old CLK GTR which has dominated GT racing in the past. Pagani say that the car will pull from 0-60 in 3.0 seconds, and has a top speed of 233mph, which is limited mainly because of the new, bigger, spoiler and front splitter, as well as a rear defuser on the undertray.
With the F Roadster pulling 7:28 around the Nurburgring, big things are being expected of the new R.

If you want one, there are still apparently 5 that are unsold, and they'll set you back around 1.24 million pounds, plus taxes. Oh, and it only runs on racing fuel Smile

Wow it looks really.. scary? LOL it's impressive.

750bhp - jesus that is powerful, and I bet what with the lighter weight and more elegant design that simply looks more aerodynamic, this is the car to have over a Veyron, or even the old one.

    I do love Zondas

It should be noted that this isn't road legal, so getting it to the track maybe, well, difficult

I'd only have it if it was carbon fibre...

How come? It would be expensive to repair if... when... you crash it lol

It'd be quick and easy, but expensive to get fixed.
